Risky capital is a form of financing companies, whose specific characteristic lies in the fact, that it is a type of proprietorial financing, which is also accompanied by high risks and consequentially high potential profits. The most common forms of risky capital are business angels and risky capital funds.
The translation into Slovenian as ‘risky capital’ is not exactly accurate, as with ‘venture capital’ one could speak of a more daring capital, partnership or capital, financing the most ambitious business projects – we could therefore speak of planning capital.
Business projects with a good idea are financed with risky (venture) capital on the right market. These companies have an excellent and ambitious management and a potential exit strategy. Examples of companies, financed by venture capital, are Google, Yahoo, Starbucks, Youtube, etc. |
